On 13 June 2026 I observed an adult White-tailed Tropicbird / Weißschwanz-Tropikvogel (Phaethon lepturus) from a ceviche restaurant in downtown Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos. Glad I brought the camera to my wife’s birthday lunch so that I was able to document this first record for both the Galápagos and the country of Ecuador (1700+ species recorded) from the side of the road as it circled low over the town.
